A visit to the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral is a must, Consecrated in 1258, it has the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom. The chapter house displays the best preserved copy of the Magna Carta. There are four copies believed to date back to 1215, the other 3 copies are located at the British Library, Lincoln Castle and the Houses of Parliament although it’s not certain the the copy at the Houses of Parliment 1215 version.
Visitor attractions include the ancient monument of Stonehenge, Avebury (a Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles which is located around the village) and even Longleat in Warminster which is only 23 miles away.
Salisbury also has some of the best shopping centres in the area including the Old George Mall, the Cross Keys shopping centre and The Maltings.
Most of the major chains are represented along with some wonderful smaller shops hidden away in the medieval streets with their quaint old names.We also have some larger shops on the outskirts of Salisbury including Tesco, Argos, B&Q and Waitrose to name just a few.
