Salisbury a popular tourist destination that attracts many visitors to Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge. The Cathedral was consecrated in 1258 and has the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom.
The chapter house displays the best preserved copy of the Magna Carta, there are four copies believed to date back to 1215.
The other 3 copies are located at the British Library, Lincoln Castle and the Houses of Parliament although it’s not certain that the copy at the Houses of Parliament is a 1215 version.
The City is home to some very popular museums and attractions including the historic Cathedral, Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum, The Rifles Museum, Mompesson House and Arundells which is the former home of Sir Edward Heath.
